When the entire world is grappling with the curse of Covid-19, a few among the artists from the film industry are coming out as volunteers for helping the needy. One such good work has been taken up by the bollywood actress Sonia Mann in and around her native village, Bagga Kalan in Amritsar District. She registered herself as the very first volunteer with the
Amritsar Police as she was seen moving door to door, distributing foods and other essentials, while appealing the public not to venture out during curfew.

“The way the Government of Punjab is functioning to ensure supply of essential commodities including food and medicine is phenomenal. Amritsar Police came to the rescue when my ailing mother needed medicine. I am so grateful to the Amritsar District Police who have set up a foolproof system through their helplines for reaching out to the needy in these testing times. Profoundly touched by the humane attitude with which the Police is working round the clock, i have decided to register myself as a volunteer with Amritsar District Police. With their slogan “main haan volunteer”, Amritsar District Police is the first to launch this novel campaign through which I got myself registered.

I have even called upon all my colleagues in the film industry, fans and followers to please join as volunteers. This is the time when people need your services at the grassroot. I have started my visit with my own village Bagga Kalan, Jagdev Khurd and Ajnala and decided cover different pockets in comind days.”, says Sonia Mann. She was seen very much concerned about the health of the Punjab Police officers who are exposing themselves 24×7 and are very much vulnerable to the virus. She has even decided to visit the border areas of Punjab to create awareness among the people and to extend her helping hand to the locals.
She is nothing short of an inspiration to the youth as well as community leaders who can be of immense help by ensuring essential commodities for the needy.
